Welcome to my first post for haute couverture. This blog is all about delicious, flavoursome recipes for those of us out there that find joy in cooking, and pleasure in taste!
My first recipe for haute couverture is the delectable Lemon Sour Cream cupcakes, provided by taste.com.au. These citrus infused treats are the perfect thing to cook when you have a tad of sour cream left over (1/2 cup is all you need).
I also decided to whip up these treats as we had some beautiful fresh lemons growing in our garden, and were just ripe for this recipe!
The ingredients are minimal, as is the effort, but the result is just wonderful! A slight adjustment was made to the icing, where the juice of one lemon (approximately 4-5 tablespoons) was added to ensure it had that full, tangy lemon taste perfectly offset by the simple flavours of the cake.
Topped with a lemon jube from the Natural Confectionary company makes it just delicious! After finishing a meal of Jamie Oliver's deconstructed pumpkin salad for entree, roasted rosemary chicken with sides of green beans and herbed smashed potato salad for main, these were the perfect treat to complete the meal.
I can also imagine having one of these with a cup of English Breakfast for my mid-afternoon treat, perfectly lovely.
